As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a crucial role in accurately transcribing medical reports, dictations, and other healthcare-related materials, ensuring a seamless flow of information critical to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Listen to and transcribe medical audio files, including physician dictations, patient histories, operative reports, consultations, and other medical documents, with precision and attention to detail.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for clarity, grammar, and completeness, seeking clarification when necessary.
- Prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines, optimizing efficiency while delivering error-free transcriptions. Fax and index files as necessary and per client guidelines.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines, ensuring the security of sensitive medical information.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy. Proficient in accurate and timely transcription of medical audio files with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with transcription software, word processing applications, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Solid understanding of medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatment protocols to ensure accurate and contextually appropriate transcriptions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and maintain clear, concise, and error-free documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling diverse medical specialties and maintaining composure under pressure.
